So Many Leaders, So Little Leadership_

The title of John Stanko‘s book named above really hit home when I was starting out in my career. Fresh off the varsity boat, I was looking for guidance and support to help me navigate the choppy waters of corporate life. Won’t lie, I was disappointed often. As we grow as leaders, it’s good to check where we are and make sure we’re not the type of leader our teams don’t want to follow:

Maturity comes with the acceptance of Responsibility_

A lot has changed since I started out, and my perspective is a lot more compassionate. I now know from experience that leadership is hard and it doesn’t come with a rule book. When the going gets tough, it’s sometimes easier to let the chips fall where they may and take the easy road.Monte Pedersen believes that to grow and become responsible, leaders need to take on (5) very important duties:

Every leader knows they should talk to their people. But when things are busy and chaotic (and when are they not in entrepreneurship?), it’s too easy to neglect this leadership fundamental.
